AUGUST THROUGH NOVEMBER—WRITE-A-WILL TIME
It is “Write-A-Will” time, continuing through November. By focusing on the importance of a will, you can care for your loved ones, and support the church. A will creates an important life plan and legacy, and avoids placing the worries and burdens of financial unknowns on your family after your death. And it is FREE! A new website was created, where you can create your will—free of charge—Pick up a FREEWILL Informational Sheet at the church, or check it out at WWW.FREEWILL.COM/UCC. You DO NOT need to be a member of Pilgrim Chapel to use this free program.
SEPTEMBER 14th—1960’s COFFEEHOUSE
The United Church of Christ’s local Mission Priority Board is raising funds for its partners with a creative 1960’s Coffeehouse presentation featuring folk music, history, and memories, with veteran Columbus folksinger and retired news reporter BILL COHEN. It’s a candlelit, musical, year-by-year journey through the era, with live folksongs, “news reports,” and photos of sixties happenings, along with 60’s displays of memorabilia. Bill will also challenge the audience with fun 60’s trivia questions. This special performance is being hosted to benefit our local service hunger and homelessness ministries and advocacy efforts, with a $15.00 suggested donation at the door. The event will be held on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th, 7:00 to 8:30PM, at First United Church of Christ, 5808 Glenview Ave., (College Hill) Cincinnati, 45224.
