Making our community a better place to live is an important part of how we celebrate our love of Christ. Mt. Adams Pilgrim Church joyfully participates in many Mt. Adams neighborhood events and is supportive of Ecumenical relations with other churches.
Many groups, including the Mt. Adams Community Association, enjoy holding meetings and gatherings in our Sinclair room, which has a fully equipped kitchen. It is available for a nominal fee and hosts up to 100 persons.
Weekly Yoga
We host a Yoga class every Saturday at 10:00 am in the chapels under croft. For more information please contact Thea Kellum at [email protected] or at 513-405-0580.
Annual Spaghetti Dinner
Every October, MAPC hosts a Spaghetti Dinner for members and friends. Food, libations and authentic Italian music (with much appreciation to Sadie on accordion and Raford on guitar) provide a fun and “filling” evening. Proceeds benefit the church both financially and in the sharing of the spirit and fellowship of our warm and wonderful church congregation. Cost of the food and beverages are nominal but the value is immeasurable.
Camp Washington Outreach
We have had a very long and enriching relationship with the United Church of Christ in Camp Washington. During the Christmas and Easter seasons, members and friends collect food, clothing, toiletries and other important personal needs items to be distributed to the neediest among us.
Cincinnati Reds Night Out
We have an annual celebration of our hometown team each year. Brats, metts, dogs, peanuts, popcorn and crackerjacks! All event proceeds benefit a charitable organization. In 2011 it was the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and in 2012, 2013 and 2014 Camp Washington school children received uniforms and school supplies.
Colonel’s Karaoke
Once a month, Colonel Rob Croskery, a West Point graduate and singer of renown, conducts a Karaoke evening in a Mt. Adams venue. Libations, food and camaraderie are guaranteed. Our own Chapelettes have been heard performing hits of today and yesteryear. Proceeds have benefited Mt. Adams Pilgrim Chapel, the Heifer Project, the Camp Washington United Church of Christ and local tornado victims.
A new monthly arts event has opened on The Hill! Guests can visit the Chapel’s undercroft, known as the Sinclair Room, as it is transformed into a coffeehouse for the evening for a mini-art opening/mini-concert.
Like the increasingly popular Sofar events, that are “Bringing the magic back to live music,” Studio 1222 offers an opportunity to experience live original music and visual art in an intimate environment. Held from 6-8PM the second Thursday of each month, it is free and open to the public. Refreshments are provided. Come prepared for one-of-a-kind evening.
Donations are appreciated. For more information visit Mt. Adams Pilgrim Chapel on Facebook.
